Celebrated British Jazz artist, Peter White, accompanied by his fellow British smooth Jazz keyboardist and composer, Oli Silk, arrived in Accra on Wednesday for the maiden edition of the Stanbic bank Jazz Festival.
Peter White and his compatriot will perform two shows at the Omanye Hall of the Labadi Beach Hotel on Friday May 9 and Saturday, May 10.
Both shows promise to be star-studded, featuring accomplished local artists like Ofie Kodjoe, Aka Blay and many other surprise acts.
“It’s fun for me to go to a new place to play with a local band. You hear a new flavour to your song that makes you realize it can be re-made or rediscovered and I am looking forward to playing with musicians from Ghana”, said Peter White.
He promised some exciting moments at the concert, saying patrons should expect some beautiful collaborations with local artistes billed for the night.
Organizer of the event, Smooth Jazz Ghana promises a night of nothing but magical moments which every music-loving Ghanaian should not miss out on.
The May 9 show is an exclusive event which will see Peter serenade selected private banking clients of headline sponsor, Stanbic Bank Ghana with some of his popular compositions such as “Midnight in Manhattan and Bright”.
The second show on Saturday, May 10 is however open to the public with tickets on sale at the venue, Airport Shell, Tema Community 11 Shell, among others.
