Ghanaian gospel musician, Patience Nyarko has clashed with radio presenter, Kwame OB Nartey over the Joe Mettle brouhaha.
After blasting him for placing Joe Mettle ahead of other gospel musicians recently, Patience Nyarko was not ready to accept the explanation that OB had about his earlier statement.
Arguing about this in an interview with Halifax Ansah-Addo on Okay FM’s ‘Best Entertainment Show’, OB Nartey said his earlier statement has been twisted.
The Vision 1 FM presenter clarified that Joe Mettle is one of the gospel musicians who have adapted the new ways of marketing and promoting his stuff, thereby trying hard to have international recognition.
OB Nartey stated he does his arguments with fact and dared Patience and others who have any audio to dispute what he said to provide it.
He wondered why the content of the discussion has been misplaced.
However, Patience Nyarko, who was at the studio of Okay FM insisted OB Nartey placed Joe Mettle ahead of others by naming him as the number one based on the audios she has listened.
The ‘Obi Nyani Me’ singer was hurt after OB Nartey said he doesn’t want this issue to be banter between Patience and him, rather, he wants to place his argument on very knowledgeable grounds.
Patience the rebutted it is an insult for the radio presenter to use such words.
OB Nartey further stated that if Patience is still placing words in his mouth, then from his opinion and observation, Joe Mettle has achieved more in the few years in the gospel music industry.
He argued that Joe Mettle being the first gospel musician to win the Artiste of the Year category in the history of the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards proves the right apparatus he is using and his remarkable achievements.
When he said it is common sense for Joe Mettle’s achievements to be recognized, Patience Nyarko was hurt and replied, “what an insult…is he okay?”
But later, OB Nartey stated that he is sorry and his ‘common sense’ comment was not meant to insult her.
