Parts of Greater Accra and the Eastern Region have been hit by an earth tremor.
This occurred a few minutes to 11:00 pm on Wednesday, June 24, 2020.
Some of the affected areas include Teahie, Nungua, Dansoman, Lapaz, Achimota, Dome, Gbawe, Weija, Botwe, Madina, Nsawam, Koforidua among others.
One person who shared her experience said: ” I thought it was my imagination until it happened the second and the third time and then I also saw friends tweeting and sharing the news on social media”.
According to both the European Mediterranean Seismological Centre (ESMC) and Volcano Discovery, citing the United States Geological Survey (USGS) as its primary data source, the magnitude was 4.0 on the Richter scale with a depth of 10.0km.
The epicenter latitude / longitude was pegged at 5.6273°N / 0.3473°W.
No fatality or destruction of property has been recorded.
