The Electoral Commission has expressed concern about the continuous use of a logo it discarded about two years ago by some media houses.
The Commission had cause to issue a statement on Thursday, June 11 signed by its Acting Director of Public Affairs Mrs. Sylvia Annoh on the issue.
The statement described the current logo of the Commission with an attached image of how the “original” one looks like to drum home the EC’s point.
“This comes to inform you that on Tuesday 4th December 2018, the Commission unanimously decided to revert to the original logo of the institution.
“The original logo reflects the Coat of Arms of Ghana with a ballot box at the centre. It also depicts a hand casting its vote.”
The logo the EC is asking the media to stop using was the controversial one introduced by the immediate past EC boss, Charlotte Osei.

ORIGINAL LOGO OF THE ELECTORAL COMMISSION
I bring you warm greetings from the Electoral Commission.
It has come to the attention of the Commission that a number of media houses continue to use the old logo of the Commission when carrying stories on the Electoral Commission.
This comes to inform you that on Tuesday 4th December 2018, the Commission unanimously decided to revert to the original logo of the institution.
The original logo reflects the Coat of Arms of Ghana with a ballot box at the centre. It also depicts a hand casting its vote.
Kindly find attached the image of the Commission’s logo.
We trust that going forward your media house will use this logo when carrying out stories on the Electoral Commission.
