Edem Agbana, who won the NDC primaries in the Ketu North Constituency of the Volta Region, has said that he is the rightful winner and that propaganda will not alter the outcome of the election, in response to rumors of a tie after a recount.
Initially, Edem Agbana was reported to have won the constituency by a narrow margin of one vote, with 360 votes against his main contender John Adanu’s 359 votes. However, John Adanu requested a recount, which was conducted in the presence of electoral commission officials, party officials, and candidate agents. After the recount, Edem Agbana was still declared the winner by one vote.
Based on the official signed results, it is clear that Edem Agbana won the NDC parliamentary ticket for Ketu North. Additionally, there were no rejected votes among the initial 360 votes that were counted for Edem Agbana. Therefore, Edem Agbana’s victory can be considered legitimate and conclusive.
Edem Agbana expressed his gratitude to the people of Ketu North for their support and trust in him. He also acknowledged his contender John Adanu for participating in a fair and peaceful election, and he urged all supporters to come together to ensure victory for the NDC in the parliamentary elections.
