The Parliament of Ghana will resume sitting this week after several weeks of recess.
The House which will be sitting for the first time this year on Tuesday is expected to consider a number of important bills such as the Right to Information Bill, Renewable Energy Bill, and Colleges of Education Bill.
Parliament will also play host to President John Mahama when he delivers the state of the nation address in March.
Members of Parliament (MPs) were expected to resume on January 27 but reports said financial constrains forced a postponement of the resumption date.
But Deputy Majority Leader, Alfred Agbesi denied the report.
He explained that the Speaker of Parliament, Edward Doe Adjaho used his discretion to choose the new date after the Business Committee of the House proposed a date.
“The leadership of Parliament proposed that Parliament should reconvene on the 27th of January which was subject to the approval of the Speaker and that is the reason why he has fixed a new date of 3rd February,” he insisted.
