A middle-aged woman was on Sunday afternoon arrested by the Police at Kponvie-Barrier on the Ho-Accra road in the Volta region with a large volume of a substance suspected to be India hemp.
The lady was on board an Accra-bound passenger vehicle with registration number GS-4055-13 from Hohoe.
A source, onboard the vehicle told Starr News’ Regional correspondent Lambert Atsivor that the Police found about 35 slabs of the dried leaves hidden in a basket full of okro belonging to the lady, during their mandatory check on their vehicle.
The Anyirawase District Police command has since taken statements from the suspect, identified as Angela Botwe and the rest of the passengers on board the Toyota Caravan.
This latest arrest comes barely two weeks after two police officers and a Nigerian were also busted with 1051 slabs of the suspected substance at Sokode-Lokoe near Ho.
