The National Women’s Organizer of the NDC is calling for the arrest of Kennedy Ohene Agyapong, NPP MP for Assin Central, for alleging that some leading members in his party are plotting to poison Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo.
Anita Desooso was speaking Thursday on Adom TV’s ‘Pampaso’, hosted by Kofi Adomah Nwawani.
Kennedy Agyapong, while speaking on Adom FM’s ‘Burning Issues’ accused a former Chief of Staff in the John Agyekum Kufuor administration, Kwadwo Mpiani and a former Minister of Health, Dr. Richard Anane of plotting to “poison Nana Addo if he becomes President of the Republic of Ghana.”
He also accused the two of masterminding the rising tensions in the opposition New Patriotic Party and described them as “wicked.”
Furthermore, he alleged that the two (Mpiani and Anane) were behind the unpopular administrative actions being executed by the party’s National Chairman, Paul Afoko and General Secretary, Kwabena Agyapong.
But Anita Desooso, who also doubles as a deputy NADMO Coordinator said the police administration should invite Kennedy Agyapong for making such allegation without proof.
“The security agencies should invite the NPP’s Assin Central MP now for questioning,” she demanded.
She advised the 2012 Presidential candidate, Nana Akufo-Addo, to be extremely careful about the food he ate per the allegation.
“Akufo-Addo and his family must be cautious because some notorious characters can take advantage of Ken’s allegation and act irresponsibly,” Desooso asserted.
She also called on the people around Nana Akufo-Addo to be vigilant and watch those who got close to him.
Anita Desooso expressed worry about the failure of the NPP leadership to punish Ken Agyapong for the kind of allegations he makes on air.
In a sharp rebuttal on the same show, the MP for Nkoranza North, Major Derrick Oduro (Rtd.) refuted Madam Desooso’s claim that the party leadership was afraid of Kennedy Agyapong.
According to him, it was better to speak to people in private rather than going on radio.
However, he called on NPP members to remain calm as the party prepares for the Special Delegates’ conference on Sunday August, 31, 2014.
