Ghana went past Cameroon 2-1 in Yaoundé in the first leg of a 2015 African U17 Championship qualifier on Saturday.
Ernest Agyiri and Abass Issah gave Ghana the edge after scoring in the first half before the Cameroonians pulled one back in the second half.
The results puts Ghana in a favourable position to qualify for the continental showpiece in Niger next year.
In two weeks time the Starlets will host Cameroon.
