Police have gunned down a notorious armed robber at Yeji in the Bono East Region.
The deceased, identified as Ernest Akorli, alias Jerigoji, was alleged to have recently killed a 20-year-old girl after sexually assaulting her.
According to the Police, Akorli had been on their wanted list since there have been numerous complaints lodged against him.
The alleged notorious armed robber met his untimely death on Monday, after engaging the police in a gun battle when they went to arrest him.
The police said they received intelligence on his location and immediately dispatched officers to apprehend him.
However, Akorli in his attempt to escape opened fire on the police which they (police) retaliated, causing his death.
