If you’re a parent and you heard in the news that the school where your ward is recorded 6 cases of Coronavirus, I believe your next obvious move is to move straight to the school to withdraw him/her.
This is exactly what is happening at Accra Girls Senior High School this morning.
The news came in yesterday that 6 students from this school tested positive for COVID-19, barely two weeks after final year students went back to school.
Well, because a lot of parents have stormed the school premises to take their wards back home, there’s a lot of commotion going on there.
Starr News reports that Police officers, as well as Covid-19 task force officials from the Ayawaso North Municipal Assembly, have been deployed to the school to manage the situation.
Parents insist on picking up their wards as the police have barricaded the entrance to the school, following reports of agitations by the students on the school campus
Starr News’ Daniel Nii Lartey reports that only parents have been called to be addressed by officials, denying the media access to the briefing.
One parent told Star News “I came for her, I want them to release my daughter for me. She called yesterday that an ambulance came for two people so we have to come for her.”
“They are not allowing us to enter so we are just here and the policemen are also blocking us from entering,” she added.
