Togbe Afede XIV, Board Chairman of World Trade Centre (WTC Accra), has stressed that the centre is well positioned to support businesses and trade activities to attract investment and prosperity in the country.

He said the centre with support from stakeholders in the industry is poised to attract new investment both local and international. Togbe Afede XIV said this in Accra at a media encounter to familiarise themselves with the activities of the centre.

He said the Centre, owned by Strategic Initiatives Limited, acquired the license to operate from the World Trade Centres Association (WTCA) in New York, to operate in Accra, Ghana.

Togbe Afede XIV said WTC Accra is thus a member of the prestigious WTCA, whose membership include more than 300 World Trade Centres operating in 100 countries, a global network that provides business people the services and facilities for easy and faster international trade.

He said through the WTCA, WTC Accra becomes a local link to all other World Trade Centres with a unique concept of reciprocity, making membership in WTC Accra an entry into the international business community.

Togbe Afede XIV said the vision of the Centre is to establish iconic world-class landmark of international business that makes a lasting impact on the local economy to enhance prosperity.

He said the Centre aims to bring together businesses and government agencies involved in international trade to provide essential trade services and stimulate the economy of the country.

Togbe Afede XIV said some of the services of the Centre include conference facilities, trade fairs and exhibitions, trade missions, trade information services, market research and other miscellaneous services.

The Board Chairman presented a membership card to Dr Nii Kotei Dzani, Chief Executive Officer of Ideal Finance Limited as the first elite member of the organisation.

Mr Dzani commended management of the Centre and promised to be a committed ambassador of the Centre by bringing on board other business owners to join the organization to expand the business network.

Mr Emmanuel Doni Kwame, Managing Director of WTC Accra, said the Centre provides a range of information for successful trade transactions such as trade flow statistics, business contacts, profiles of buyers and suppliers and government regulations.

He said the centre would promote the export of goods and services by training and advising companies; and associations and economic development organisations in their activities in international markets through an integrated programme of export solutions.
